Em “Populares” , o autor se autoretrata, trazendo imagens que levam o espectador a soltar a imaginação para descobrir qual expressão popular esta se refere, muitas vezes feita explorando o humor e uma certa dose de surrealismo. O trabalho também busca apresentar a explicação e a origem dessas expressões idiomáticas* brasileiras, sendo uma forma de evidenciar a história e o desenvolvimento da comunicação na língua portuguesa dentro de um contexto cultural.

"Popular" is a collection of author's self-portrays with images that lead the spectator to release his own imagination to discover which idiomatic expression* the photographer's work refers to. Most of the times it is done through humor and a certain dose of surrealism. The work also seeks to explore the origins of the Brazilian idiomatic expressions and highlight the history and the development of communication in the Portuguese language within a cultural context.
* Idioms are resources of speech and writing, which gain new connotative meanings and go beyond their literal meanings when applied in specific contexts.
